Dr. Tobias Strobl – a.k.a. Tobi – is strategy designer with BMI•US in the San Francisco office. At BMI•US, Tobi leads the aerospace, mobility and transportation practice. He is the author of a blogpost series that explores tech and innovation trends impacting and changing the near future, such as urban air mobilityand quantum computing.
As a speaker, Tobi inspires the Travel Tech Con and Revolution.Aero communities and multiple international audiences, be it in the startup, corporate and academic environment such as INNOGATE technology accelerator, ETC labs, Silicon Valley Innovation Center, and Hult, Eseune and IE business schools, amongst others. He is also lecturer with INSEEC business school and strategic advisor of startups in the tech and sustainable luxe fashion industry.
Before joining BMI•US, Tobi gained experience in organizational development, process and technology consulting for international organizations in Europe, Asia and the US. He is also an Airbus veteran with 4+ years of work experience in product development for the future of flight and innovative, fully electric aircraft technologies including technology maturation, strategic technology assessment, IP, risk and opportunity management, and transfer to aircraft programs. He holds multiple internationally recognized patents filed on behalf of the Airbus Group in the field of fully electric flight.
Tobi holds a PhD in aerospace engineering, from the Technical University of Munich in Germany, and a diploma in aerospace engineering, from the Technical University of Munich.
Tobi provides keynotes and workshops in strategy, (technology) innovation and inspiration, business modeling, pricing and go-to-market, digital transformation, process restructuring, product portfolio management, design thinking.
