In 2009 the first copy of Business Model Generation was sold. Now, 5 years later, more than 1 million copies of the book have been sold worldwide, it has been translated into 30 different languages and there are more than 5 million Business Model Canvas users. This Fall, it’s time for the sequel, a new book by Alex Osterwalder and Yves Pigneur: Value Proposition Design.

Why a new book?

The Value Proposition Canvas

The Value Proposition Canvas is the tool at the center of the book. It makes value propositions visible and tangible and thus easier to discuss and manage. It perfectly integrates with the Business Model Canvas and the Environment Map (at Business Models Inc. we use the Context Canvas), two tools which are discussed in detail in Business Model Generation. Together they shape the foundation of a suite of business tools for strategy and innovation.

Masterclass and Book Launch

Just like Business Model Generation, the Value Proposition Design-book will be launched in Amsterdam, The Netherlands with a 1-day Masterclass and Book Launch with Alex Osterwalder on November 25th. Besides that, Alex organizes Launch Events worldwide with online Q&A sessions during the week of October 20-26th.
