“Business Model Generation” is written by Alexander Osterwalder and Yves Pigneur, designed by Alan Smith, edited by Tim Clark and produced by Patrick van der Pijl. The book was soft-launched in June, 2009 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The first print of the book was sold in September 2009. In the first year, BMG sold more than 32.000 copies in 66 countries. As we speak, the book is being translated into 23 different languages. The book has now sold over 250.000 copies all over the world. The book is an exceptional example of strategy and business design thinking, giving deep insights into the nature of business models and the business modeling method. It also provides a shared language and co-creative tool for describing, assessing, and changing business models.
