Business Model You! Book Launch in Amsterdam

February 16, 2012 | Patrick van der Pijl

Business Model You! book is born! The book is all about your personal business model written by Tim Clark, Alex Osterwalder and Yves Pigneur in close collaboration with 328 work life wizards from over 30 countries. In the first week of February were 2000 limited editions of the book printed of which 500 copies were sent to the Netherlands. In the Olympic Stadium in Amsterdam, we celebrated a little party with the Dutch co-creators and the ‘live’ case studies of the English version of the book as a singer / artist Hind, radio anchorman Maarten Bouwhuis and personal assistant in the cloud Jet Barendregt.

Business Model You! team

The original idea for the book came from Tim Clark (editor of Business Model Generation). He saw a need for individuals to understand and develop a personal business model. Alex and Yves co-authored, Alan ran the design in cooperation with Trish and Megan was editor. Patrick supported with ideas around method and case studies.

Business Model of Business Model You!

Again we used a different business model for publishing this book. On the platform www.businessmodelyou.com co-creators and readers could subscribe. After paying $ 45 they got access to the platform. Here Tim not only shared the contents of his book but also insights and exercises. The co-creators thought about it the title of the book, the subtitle, the design of the cover and on the content and case studies. The book is self published by the core team. Wiley will take over the printing and sales in March. At the moment 5 translation including the Dutch are coming… Now the book is available we are curious where the Business Model You! movement is going… You can join the movement here.

The Dutch Translation

Currently I work closely with Kluwer on the Dutch translation. Here we work on Dutch case studies including an investor, photographer, a McDonald’s franchisee, a professional cyclist, a professional skater and the Dutch Olympic swimming coach Jacco Verhaeren. On this blog we will publish some cases.

Workshops and training

We get regular requests from organizations for the implementation of business model innovations including the personal side. We do this by means of ao a training BMYou! In the last months we have conducted a number of pilots with corporate organizations but also with artists and actors in cooperation with Arts and Business, with athletes and entrepreneurs in collaboration with Cruyff Institute and University of Nyenrode.
